Sizing:

When designing jewellery, an important consideration is always the choice of metal.

There are many metals to choose from and each have their own characteristics.

Here you can see a colour comparison of the different metals available.

Not all designs can be made in all these options but rest assured, as part of the design process, we explain your options and go through the metal choices recommended for that particular design.

Diamonds are eternal movements of life and fire.

When you are planning to buy a diamond, the more you know the better.

2 diamonds, the same size, can for instance vary widely in quality and price. A good price does not guarantee good value.

At It's Unique, we'll take you through what you need to know about the most precious of stones to ensure you buy the best quality and value you possibly can.

Our stones and pearls are all hand picked to ensure best quality.

A snap shot look at diamonds:

Cut: Refers to the shape and cutting quality of the diamond. Diamonds come in a wide variety of cuts/shapes, the most common of these are round brilliant cut (round) and princess cut (square). The quality of the cut also determines/affects the sparkle of the diamond, ideal proportions allow the maximum amount of light refraction and this is what we see as sparkle.

Clarity: Refers to quality of stone and inclusions within or on the diamond. This can vary from Internally Flawless(IF) all the way to the other side of the spectrum which is Included (I) where flaws are visible to the naked eye.

Colour: Refers to the stones internal colour. This can vary from colourless to shades of yellow and browns like champagne all the way through to fancy colours like black, vibrant yellow, pink, red, blue, green etc.

Carat: Refers to size or weight of stone, denoted in carat.

Size is an important one to get correct. We have multiple ways to help you. We can guide you with what, where and how to take your measurements via email. We also sell sizing "belts" like the one in the picture which make ring sizing easy. Alternatively if you want to leave the hassle of sizing to us, we offer face to face sizing appointments.

Some tips for sizing rings:

- Remember fingers can change in size depending on weather and humidity so take
measurements on two days and different times of day to confirm size.

- The wider the ring, the tighter it will sit, so we usually recommend going up by half or
in some cases a full size to accomodate. Please reach out to us if you are unsure.

Some tips for necklace and bracelet lengths:

- Use a haberdashery/ sewing bendy tape measure for more accurate size

- Once you have your measurement, choose from available lengths closest to what you
need. In most cases standard lengths are suitable, but if this is not the case for you,
please contact us, depending on item, we may be able to customise the length for you.

There are 4 main types of pearls:

Freshwater, Akoya, Tahitian South Sae and South Sea.
